Variety description

10 August 2026

The Arnasca variety, also known as Pignola, is a tree smaller in size compared to the Taggiasca variety. The crown consists of densely grouped and irregularly arranged branches. The fruits are rounded, small, and turn purple-black when ripe.

The plant is characterized by stable yields and cold tolerance. The oil obtained from the fruits has an intense fruity aroma, a slight bitterness, and good storage stability. The variety is an important component for the production of oils with the Riviera Ligure Protected Designation of Origin.
