The tree of the Morchiaio variety (synonym Bozzolo) is characterized by low vigor and an upright crown shape. The leaves are small and have an elliptic-lanceolate shape. The medium-sized fruits have an ovoid, slightly asymmetrical shape and turn purple-black upon ripening.

The variety belongs to the late-maturing category and is characterized by low and irregular productivity. It has good cold tolerance, but is sensitive to the fungal disease Spilocaea oleaginea, which causes peacock spot.
