The variety is the result of breeding work on the genetic improvement of the crop. It was obtained in 1972 by irradiating the source material of the Ascolana tenera variety.

The plant belongs to self-compatible varieties. Detailed agronomic characteristics, including morphology and fruit quality, are absent from open scientific databases.
