The tree is characterized by strong growth and a dense crown, which takes on a rounded shape with proper pruning. The main branches are directed vertically, while the fruiting branches tend to droop. The leaves are medium-sized, elliptical or lanceolate in shape, and olive-green in color with a grayish underside.
The fruits are medium to large in size, oval and slightly asymmetrical, and darken upon ripening. The variety has regular and abundant yields and has many biotypes that differ morphologically. The variety is sensitive to a number of pests, fungal diseases, as well as adverse weather conditions during the flowering period and early autumn frosts.
The quality of the oil directly depends on the degree of maturity of the olives at the time of harvest. Harvesting yellowish fruits yields oil with a pronounced fresh aroma, bitterness, and spicy notes, while processing darkened fruits allows for a milder, sweeter, and fruitier product.
