Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is autochthonous to the central and northwestern regions of Sicily; its origin is considered very ancient. The fruits belong to the very large category, with a weight of 8–9 g, sometimes reaching 10–15 g. The fruit shape is elliptical and slightly asymmetrical; the flesh separates easily from the pit.

Harvesting is carried out at the end of August or in September. The oil from these olives has a light fruity taste with notes of artichoke, almond, and tomato leaf. The variety is characterized by low and variable yields, is demanding in maintenance, and requires pollinators such as Nocellara del Belice, Nocellara Etnea, or Tonda Iblea.
