Variety description

10 August 2026

The term Ogliastrino is not the name of an individual breeding variety in the agronomic sense, but serves as a vernacular designation for olives from the historical Ogliastra region. This name may cover various local ecotypes or other known varieties, such as Nera di Oliena, adapted to local growing conditions.

The plants are characterized by high hardiness and adaptability to difficult conditions, in particular to cultivation on steep slopes. They are characterized by moderate biennial bearing. The resulting oil possesses high stability, low acidity, a pronounced structure and notes of artichoke, which is due to a high content of polyphenols.
