Olia de Cerexia is a local folk synonym for the Tonda di Villacidro variety. Trees of this autochthonous Sardinian variety are characterized by medium vigor and a spreading crown. Plants possess dense foliage and specific resistance to cold.
The variety is late-ripening; harvesting usually takes place from December to February-March. The fruits are large, with an average weight of 4.5–5 g, have a spherical symmetrical shape, and turn black upon ripening. The olives are versatile: they are suitable both for producing oil of medium oil content and for consumption.
