The variety is native to the Vulture-Melfese area. It is used exclusively for the production of olive oil, which has a golden-yellow color with greenish hues. The flavor profile of the oil is balanced, with notes of fresh grass, artichoke, tomato, almond, and apple.

The tree is characterized by alternate bearing. The variety is considered sensitive to diseases, including olive fruit fly infestation and fungal infections such as peacock spot, especially in conditions of high humidity.
