The name "Romana" is used as a local synonym for the Corsican olive variety "Germaine". This variety is a medium-sized tree with a spreading crown and elliptical leaves. The fruits are medium-sized, egg-shaped, and turn black during the ripening process. The variety is suitable for oil production with a yield of more than 30% and for table use.
In Italy, the term "Villa Romana" is used as a temporary designation for new, not yet classified olive varieties discovered in archaeological zones and undergoing scientific study.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
