The variety is a traditional Algerian olive tree cultivar. The fruits are suitable for both olive oil processing and for use as table olives. The oil is characterized by a golden-green color, smooth texture, and mild fruity taste, while the table fruits have a high flesh-to-pit ratio and increased sugar content.
The plant possesses marked resistance to drought, soil salinity, and cold, is characterized by early flowering, and is suitable for manual harvesting. The variety is used as a pollinator for other varieties, for example Chemlali. The plant's leaves exhibit biological activity due to a high content of polyphenols and flavonoids.
