The variety belongs to the Schattenmorelle group and is often used as a parent form in the breeding of new cherry hybrids. In literature, it frequently serves as a standard for comparison in variety trials.
The fruits are large, and the juice is colored. The plants have a relatively early ripening period. When grown on their own roots, the trees are prone to intense root sucker formation, with the activity of this process increasing with the age of the tree.
The variety has high susceptibility to bacterial canker caused by Pseudomonas syringae, as well as to various leaf infections compared to more resistant breeding lines.
