The tree has medium to strong growth vigor with a round or broadly pyramidal crown and good branching. The variety is self-fertile and characterized by high, regular yields. Flowering is early, 5–6 days earlier than the Schattenmorelle variety; fruit ripening is mid-season.
The fruits are medium to large in size with brown-red skin. The flesh is juicy, soft or medium-dense, separates well from the pit, and has a distinctly sour taste. The variety is susceptible to Coccomyces hiemalis and Monilinia.
