The tree has moderately strong growth, forming a pyramidal crown with drooping branches. The variety belongs to the group of old European Sauerkirsche varieties and is genetically related to the Leopoldskirsche group.

The fruits are large, round or broadly oval, covered with dark black-brown skin. The flesh is soft, contains a large amount of intensely coloring dark red juice, and has a pronounced sour taste. Fruit ripening occurs in July.

The variety is self-fertile and characterized by high adaptability to various soil types and windy sites. It has good resistance to Monilinia, but is susceptible to bacterial canker.

Due to stable acidity and intense juice coloration, the variety is used in the confectionery industry and for the production of juices, jams, and compotes. Suitable for mechanized harvesting.
