Pyrus communis L. European pear · Fruit crops

Variety description

10 August 2026

The tree has moderate vigor, reaching from 2.5 to 5 meters in height depending on the rootstock. The variety is self-incompatible; the presence of pollinator varieties such as Doyenné du Comice, Gieser Wildeman or Zoete Brederode is necessary for fruit set.

The fruits have a rounded, blunt-pear shape and a dark green color, sometimes with small blackish spots. The flesh is white, tender and juicy, has a sweet taste and pleasant aroma, and there is no granulation. The fruits are harvested in December-January, and the consumption period falls in January-March.

The variety is intended for fresh consumption. The plant is characterized as healthy, and the variety is also included in studies investigating resistance to fire blight.
