Variety description

10 August 2026

The Beurré Drapiez variety is not an independent one and has been established in pomological literature as a synonym for the Urbaniste variety. The name Urbaniste originates from the place where the variety was discovered in the garden of the Urbanist monks.

The medium-sized fruits have a regular shape and smooth pale yellow skin. The white, sometimes yellowish at the core, buttery and juicy flesh possesses a rich flavor. The ripening and consumption period falls in September — November.

In pomological descriptions, the variety is characterized as being very productive and valuable for market trade.
