The plant is primarily used as a clonal seedling rootstock. It provides grafted trees with vigorous growth, and mature trees can exceed 5.5 meters in height.

Compared to dwarfing rootstocks such as quince, this rootstock is characterized by lower yield per unit of crown volume and lower values for fruit size and sugar content of the scion. At the same time, the rootstock is distinguished by higher resistance to chlorosis.
