Egervár II is classified in registers as a pear seedling rootstock (wild pear seedling). It is not intended for the production of table fruit and is used exclusively as rootstock material in the cultivation of nursery stock.

This rootstock is characterized by its ability to tolerate non-irrigated conditions better than some other types of rootstocks. There is also mention of the name Egervár in relation to clonal rootstocks for sweet cherry (Mahaleb cherry), however, in the context of pear, it refers specifically to Pyrus communis seedlings.
