The variety belongs to the Rhododendron yakushimanum hybrid group. The plant has vigorous but compact growth with a broad rounded crown shape, reaching a height of 100–120 cm at ten years of age.

The foliage is evergreen, leathery, and dark green with a glossy finish. The flowers have a saturated pink-red color, sometimes with a darker eye; the shade lightens during the flowering process. Flowering occurs in the mid-late period, from late May to mid-June.

The variety is characterized by winter hardiness down to -22...-24 °C and resistance to Verticillium wilt. Due to its size and bush shape, it is suitable for solitary plantings, group compositions, and container cultivation.
