The plant is an evergreen shrub with leathery, lanceolate or ovate dark green leaves. The plant habit varies from compact, reaching up to 1.2 m in height, to larger forms up to 2.5 m in height, depending on growing conditions.
The bell-funnel-shaped flowers have salmon-red buds when opening, which transition into a base salmon-pink and cream-vanilla-yellow color with speckles on the upper petal. Flowering occurs from mid-May to early June.
The variety possesses winter hardiness down to -30°C. Growing requires humus-rich, well-drained acidic soils free of lime. Suitable for single and group plantings, including container cultivation.
