The variety is a deciduous shrub that reaches 3.2 m in height and 3 m in width after 20 years. The plant forms a symmetrical broad-rounded shrub and is characterized by vigorous growth.
The flowers are brick-red with yellow spots and have a light fragrance. Abundant flowering occurs from late May to early June.
The plant is fully winter-hardy, withstanding frosts down to -25°C. For cultivation, sunny locations or partial shade, and acidic, loose, humus-rich, and moderately moist soil are recommended.
