The variety has a wide-spreading shrub habit. At the age of 20 years, the plant reaches a height of about 1.8 m with a crown width of 2 m; in some cases, the height is 1–1.5 m. Flowering begins in early June; the flowers are red.
The plant has relative winter hardiness. In severe winters, damage to flower buds and partial damage to leaves are possible. The variety is intended for ornamental gardening and landscaping.
