The first variant is a plant obtained from open-pollinated seeds of Rhododendron carolinianum. The bush is broadly spreading, reaching 2 m in height and 2.4 m in width by 20 years of age. Flowering is early and abundant, occurring in the first half of May. The plant is characterized by good winter hardiness.
The second variant is a hybrid of Rhododendron 'Nova Zembla' and Rhododendron 'Panenka' varieties. It forms a wide bush, reaching 3 m in height and 4 m in width by 25 years of age. Flowering occurs in late May to early June. The variety possesses good winter hardiness and is suitable for cultivation in the western and central regions of Latvia.
