The evergreen slow-growing shrub forms a compact, dense, almost dwarf crown. The height and width of an adult plant are approximately 1 meter, with a range of 0.5 to 1.5 m.
Leathery leaves have an elongated shape; when they appear, they are bronze-red in color, later becoming dark green; young shoots have a brown-purple hue.
The flowers are broadly bell-shaped, gathered into large rounded inflorescences. The coloration is a combination of light yellow and salmon-pink with coral-orange shades and a dark cherry spot in the throat. The flowering period occurs in April–May.
The plant possesses good disease resistance and frost hardiness in the range down to -20°C…-25°C.
