The variety is an evergreen shrub with a compact, symmetrical crown. At the age of 20 years, it reaches 2–2.5 m in height and width. The leaves are elliptical in shape, measuring approximately 145×45 mm, and are light green in color.
Flowering occurs from late May to the first half of June. The flowers are funnel-shaped, lavender-colored, reach 7 cm in diameter, and are gathered in large, compact inflorescences.
The plant possesses high winter hardiness. It prefers semi-shaded locations protected from wind, as well as acidic, moderately moist, and humus-rich soils.
