The shrub is upright, reaching a height of about 2 meters by 20 years of age. Leaves are elliptical, pointed, up to 8 cm long and up to 4 cm wide, dark green above and green below.
Flowers are tubular-funnel-shaped, about 8 cm in diameter, orange-red in color with yellow spotting. Flowers are gathered in loose flattened-hemispherical inflorescences about 13 cm in diameter, including 9–12 flowers each.
Flowering occurs from late May to early June. The variety is characterized by good winter hardiness and is intended for single and group plantings in parks and gardens.
