The variety belongs to elepidote, or non-scaly, rhododendrons. The plant forms dense inflorescences, each consisting of 9–16 flowers.
The flowers have an open funnel-shaped form and reach sizes of approximately 70 by 70 mm. The corolla consists of five petals with characteristic wavy edges.
This variety is evergreen and was bred for cultivation in the conditions of the Latvian climate.
