The plant is an evergreen shrub reaching a height of about 1.5 m after 10 years. Leaves are dark green and leathery. Large funnel-shaped flowers are pink, lightening toward the center, with a characteristic blotch on the upper petal and slightly wavy edges. Inflorescences are large and spherical; flower buds are light green.
The variety has a frost resistance of up to -24°C and flowers in June. Cultivation requires semi-shaded sites and acidic, humus-rich, moderately moist soils with a pH of 4–5. The plant is suitable for group plantings and heath gardens, maintaining foliage attractiveness after flowering is complete.
