The shrub forms elliptical matte leaves of medium size. Large flowers with a diameter of about 7 cm are gathered in dense spherical inflorescences of 10–15 pieces. Winter buds have a characteristic yellow-red two-tone coloration.
Flowering occurs in May. The plant is characterized by resistance to direct sunlight and high temperatures. The variety was obtained by crossing 'Profesor Scholz' and 'Petrs' and is included in a collection of rhododendrons adapted to the climate of Central Europe.
