The variety is an evergreen shrub with a dense, upright hemispherical habit. It has vigorous growth, reaching a height of 1.8–2.0 m by 10 years of age. The leaves are oval-shaped, have a leathery texture and a dark green color, growing up to 12 cm in length.
The flowers are large, funnel-shaped, and gathered in dome-shaped inflorescences. The petals are pink-and-white with strongly wavy edges and a pronounced red-burgundy "eye" on the upper petal. The main blooming occurs in May; there is a tendency for partial repeat blooming in the autumn.
The plant is frost-resistant, withstanding temperatures down to -30°C. Cultivation requires acidic soils (pH 3.5–4.5), rich in humus, peaty, consistently moderately moist, as well as semi-shaded planting sites. The variety is suitable for solitary and group plantings in gardens and parks.
