The shrub is characterized by an upright habit. At the age of 10 years, it reaches a height of about 1.1 m, growing to a maximum of 160 cm in height and 140 cm in width. The leaves are dark green, glossy, and oblong. Winter flower buds have a red-violet hue.
Flowering begins in mid-May. Flowers up to 9 cm in diameter are gathered in dense spherical inflorescences. The variety has frost resistance down to -24°C and good disease resistance.
