The name «Morisca» is used as a synonym for a number of varieties. Specifically, it is one of the synonyms for the white wine grape variety Cayetana Blanca, common in the Extremadura region, and also sometimes for the red variety Negramoll, also known as Mollar. In some cases, the name appears as an independent designation for a grape variety, however, accurate information about it is limited and often duplicates data from other autochthonous varieties.

The varieties in question are autochthonous and ancient, having arisen as a result of natural crossing. They are characterized by a late or very late maturity group and high adaptability to hot and dry climates. Wine grape varieties of this group are used primarily for winemaking, with Cayetana Blanca exhibiting sensitivity to powdery mildew and grey mold.
