The variety originates from the Castilla-La Mancha region in Spain. It is a local variety, genetically distinct from the Valencian variety Morenillo. The grape belongs to the subspecies Vitis vinifera subsp. sativa and is intended for winemaking, in particular for the production of dry wines.
Plant identification was carried out using microsatellite marker analysis. At present, detailed data on agronomic characteristics, such as disease resistance or yield, are absent from open sources, as the variety is at the stage of scientific study.
