The variety is of ancient origin from the Castilla-La Mancha region. It is used for winemaking, mainly in blends with other varieties to impart structure and herbaceous notes to the wine, as it rarely accumulates a high level of sugar.
Clusters are medium-sized, cylindro-conical, and compact. Berries are medium-sized, elliptical, dark red-violet in color, with juicy, crunchy pulp and a waxy bloom on the skin.
The plant buds and ripens late, shoots have horizontal growth, which requires trellis cultivation. The variety is moderately productive and susceptible to fungal diseases. It has the synonyms Brujidera, Crujidera, Trujidera, Moravia Negra, Moravio.
