The variety is the result of breeding work that began in 1976. The plant is thermophilic and requires cultivation in warm regions on sunny sites sheltered from the wind. The variety requires protection against fungal diseases, although under favorable conditions it is possible to obtain a high-quality yield with minimal chemical treatment.

Wines from this variety are characterized by elegance, fullness of flavor, balanced acidity, and delicate spicy notes. Because of these features, the variety was previously known under the working name Riesling spicy.
