The variety is an interspecific hybrid containing genetic material from Vitis vinifera, Vitis berlandieri, and Vitis rupestris. The plant is characterized by vigorous growth and an upright bush habit, requiring canopy management to control vegetative development. The ripening period is medium, comparable to the Pinot Noir variety.
Bunches are of medium length, cylindrical in shape, and compact. Berries are small, elliptical, with thin skin. Yield is medium-high. The variety has good resistance to downy mildew (Rpv 3) and powdery mildew (Ren 3) and is tolerant to black rot; however, due to bunch density, it is sensitive to grey mold (Botrytis cinerea).
Wines from this variety possess an aromatic profile with notes of tropical fruits and mineral undertones, suitable for both young wines and long aging. The variety's resistance allows for a reduction in the use of fungicides in viticulture.
