Variety description

The variety is the result of crossing Pinot noir and Pirovano 1. The vine is medium-vigorous with vertical shoot growth and low lateral shoot formation. Leaves are medium-small, five-lobed, deeply dissected. Clusters are medium, medium-dense; berries are medium-sized, slightly oval, pink in color with firm skin and a waxy bloom.
The variety is of early-mid ripening with high and stable yields. It has low resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew, but high resistance to grey mold. It is a cold-hardy variety adapted to cool climates. During harvest, it is important to monitor the acidity level to ensure wine balance.
The grape is used in winemaking to create white wines with fruity and spicy notes, reminiscent of the aromatics of Gewürztraminer, including hints of rose, peach, and lychee.
