The variety possesses medium vigor. Clusters are characterized as large or very large; berries are large, oval, red-black in color with thick skin, prone to shriveling upon full ripening. Budburst occurs approximately one week after the Chasselas variety, with full ripening occurring three weeks after it.
The plant is well-adapted to warm southern conditions and prefers dry granitic soils. The variety is prone to high sugar accumulation and requires yield control and moderate pruning. Wines based on it are distinguished by their lightness, elegance, moderate tannins, and specific peppery notes.
