Variety description

Bunches are medium-sized, cylindrical or cylindrical-conical in shape, of medium density. Berries are small, round or oval, black in color with a pronounced waxy bloom. Leaves are dark green, round, with three or five lobes and a U-shaped petiolar sinus.

The variety possesses moderate shoot vigor and average yield. It is sensitive to high temperatures and in some years is susceptible to bunch rot (Botrytis cinerea). Wines from this variety are characterized by high intensity of aromas, deep color, and the presence of tannins, and are often used in blends.
