The Abigél variety is the result of breeding work by the Research Institute for Viticulture and Enology of the University of Pécs. It belongs to the innovative resistant varieties whose creation is aimed at reducing the use of pesticides in viticulture.
This variety is a wine grape. Paulsen 1103 rootstock is used in its cultivation. At the moment, the variety is officially authorized for cultivation in Hungary, however, detailed morphological descriptions and product quality indicators are absent in open sources.
