The variety is a result of breeding work at the Pietroasa Research Station. The pedigree includes Tămâioasă Românească (Muscat blanc à Petits Grains), and the potential involvement of the Maria Pirovano variety is also being considered.

The grapes belong to the IV–V maturity group. The variety is characterized by a sugar content of about 195 g/l and harmonious acidity. The plant is sensitive to fungal diseases, in particular to downy mildew and botrytis bunch rot.
