A wine grape variety with high growth vigor, requiring regular pruning and training. Due to high humidity in the regions where it is grown, it is traditionally cultivated on high trellises for better ventilation of the clusters.
The variety has thick skin, which protects the berries from cracking and rotting, and is drought-tolerant. At the same time, it is characterized by low yield and low resistance to fungal diseases, in particular downy mildew, which requires constant maintenance.
The grapes are used to create wines with an intense fruit-floral aroma and pronounced minerality. The variety is suitable both for the production of young wines and for creating structured samples aged in oak or on the lees.
