Variety description

The vines have medium vigor. The leaf is round, five-lobed, and medium-dissected. The flower is hermaphroditic. The bunches are small, conical, loose or medium-dense. The berry is small, round, white in color, with thin skin and juicy flesh.

The variety has a long growing cycle with early bud break and late berry ripening. Resistance to fungal diseases, particularly downy mildew, is low; the variety is also characterized by poor winter hardiness.

Wines made from Arbane are noted for their good acidity and aromatic profile with floral-vegetal notes and hints of fruit. The variety is officially authorized for use in blends for the production of Champagne wines.
