The variety originates from the Gascony region and was first mentioned in 1802 under the name Bouisselet. It is a wine grape variety intended for creating white wines, which is used in the Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh and Tursan appellations due to its aromatic properties.

The plant is late-ripening and possesses hermaphroditic flowers. The vine is characterized as unstable and exhibits sensitivity to downy mildew, black rot, and flower/fruit drop. Wines from this variety are distinguished by an intense aroma and a moderate alcohol content level.
