The Bastardo (Trousseau) grape is an ancient European variety. The bushes are characterized by medium vigor, clusters are small, dense, and cylindro-conical. Berries are small, black, with a waxy bloom. The variety is of the medium ripening period, demanding in terms of care, and possesses low resistance to diseases and frosts. It is used for the production of red and fortified wines.

Bastardo magarachskii is a breeding variety of the medium-late ripening period (145–155 days). Bushes are medium-sized, clusters are medium, conical, and of medium density. Berries are medium, oval, dark blue, with juicy pulp having chocolate tones. The variety possesses frost resistance and high yield. It is used for creating table, dessert, and liqueur wines, and juices.
