Bombino Bianco is a late-ripening wine grape variety with high yield. The vines have medium vigor and are resistant to fungal diseases. The leaf is three- or five-lobed, the bunch is conical and medium-dense. The berries are greenish-yellow and are used for the production of dry wines, sparkling wines, and vermouths.
Bombino Nero is a late-ripening wine grape variety. It is characterized by high yield with uneven berry ripening and susceptibility to diseases and frost. The leaf is round and five-lobed. The bunches are small or medium, dense, with small dark blue berries. It is used for rosé and light red wines.
There is a table form of Bombino bred by V. V. Kalugina, which differs from the classic Italian wine varieties in its large berries and loose bunch.
