Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is classified as a wine grape, used for the production of dry, sweet, sparkling wines and vermouths; it is sometimes consumed fresh. The name is associated with the shape of the cluster or high yields, which allow for a stable income. Genetically, it is an independent variety, distinct from Bombino Nero.

The vines have medium to above-average vigor. The leaf is medium-sized, moderately cleft, three- or five-lobed, with a pubescent underside. Clusters are medium or large in size, conical or cylindrical-conical in shape, and of medium density. Berries are medium or large, round, greenish-yellow, with firm skin of medium thickness.

The variety is late-maturing and is characterized by high resistance to fungal diseases and rots. The sugar content of the berry juice reaches 20 g/100 cm³ with a titratable acidity of 7 g/dm³. The character of the resulting wines is light and bright, with neutral aromatic notes of apple and chamomile.
