The variety was obtained by breeder Galibert by crossing the varieties Villard blanc (12375 Seyve-Villard) and Carignan. Genetic analysis confirms the origin of the hybrid, which is mentioned in some documents as 21-1 Galibert.
This variety is officially intended for the production of fruit juices. Despite belonging to the group of interspecific hybrids, the plant can show high susceptibility to fungal diseases.
