Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is of dual purpose, used as a table grape and for wine production. The bunches are characterized by medium size and a slightly elongated shape. The berries are covered with a thick skin that acquires a golden-yellow hue upon ripening, which allows the crop to be stored for a long time.

The vines are traditionally grown on their own roots on volcanic soils in the vicinity of Vesuvius. The variety is characterized by a very late maturity group; harvesting can continue until the end of November. The plant possesses resistance to fungal diseases.

Wines produced from this variety have pronounced acidity, minerality, and aromas of acacia flowers, honey, and apricot. The grapes are used to produce both dry wines and 'passito' type wines from dried berries.
