The plant is vigorous with upright shoots and is characterized by very late bud burst. Bunches are medium to large in size, and berries are small. Young leaves have a bronze and orange hue. Due to low fertility, long pruning is recommended.
The variety is resistant to downy mildew, but susceptible to powdery mildew and grey mold. It is used for the production of red wines with intense color, aging potential, moderate acidity, and high alcohol content. The aroma of the wine may contain notes of blackcurrant, cherry, plum, tobacco, and spices.
