Variety description

The variety is the result of a natural cross between Sangiovese and Muscat violet. The leaves are pentagonal with five lobes; the cluster is medium-sized, dense, pyramidal, with 1–2 wings. The berries are medium-sized, spherical, blue-black in color with a bloom.

It belongs to late-maturing varieties. It is susceptible to powdery mildew. Wines from this grape are characterized by an intense ruby-red color and pronounced aromatics, including notes of rose, violet, anise, licorice, and wild berries, and are distinguished by good acidity and structure.
